Big Peat Heroes Edition is a tribute to whisky heroes, created by Douglas Laing, an independent bottler of fine Scotch whisky. This special edition pays homage to frontline heroes during the COVID pandemic, with a generous £10,000 donation to charity. The whisky is a masterful blend of the finest Islay peated whiskies, boasting an impressive 40PPM on the peaty scale and confidently bottled at 48% ABV.
Tasting notes present a nose reminiscent of a garden meat smoker, earthy peat, festive Christmas spices, and a creamy vanilla undertone. On the palate, you'll discover a rich tapestry of dark caramel, freshly prepared porridge oats, sweet stewed apples, vanilla anglaise, and layers of drying peat smoke. The finish leaves you with delightful notes of lemon tart, toasted oak, caramel, and a touch of sea salt.
