The Macallan Red Collection 40 Years Old 2023 Single Malt Scotch whisky 700ml

This exceptional 40 year old whisky was launched as part of The Red Collection. The range also includes a  50, 60, 71, 74 and 78 year old, some of the oldest whisky ever bottled by the distillery. It is presented in a hand-crafted  oak box , made from the same wood used to make Macallan casks.

The Macallan 40 Year Old is made from sherry seasoned casks and bottled at 48.1% abv.

The nose has orange and grapefruit combining with dark chocolate, along with antique oak and wood spices, fig and poached pear. The palate has warm spices, with ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon with vanilla. Malty notes and fig are present throughout before a long finish with delicate wisps of woodsmoke.

Each and every bottle in The Red Collection is hand-finished with the year of bottling, bottle number and strength handwritten on the label. The ongoing aged releases are signed by Kirsteen Campbell, Master Whisky Maker.
