Experience the uniqueness of Glenglassaugh Torfa, the first peated whisky from this revived distillery. Fully matured in ex-bourbon barrels and peated to 20ppm, its name comes from Old Norse, translating to "turf" or "peat." This non-chill filtered, natural-coloured whisky offers a distinctive smoky flavour. Dried over peat-infused kilns, the malted barley adds maritime, coastal sea spray notes, along with sweet fruits like apples, pears, and melon, complemented by citrus, oat biscuits, and cigar box hints. The finish is a fusion of coastal peat and charred fruits. Glenglassaugh Torfa stands apart from the typical Highlands style, delivering a truly unique expression.
Colour: Yellow gold
Nose: Vivid, sweet, sooty campfire smoke and sea air infused with apricot jam, soft fruits, and hints of ginger and cracked black pepper.
Palate: Sweet coastal peat smoke over melon, pineapple and roasted red apple. Oat biscuits, heather honey and cigar-box spice.
Finish: A harmony of distinct coastal peat and spiced fruit flavours.
