What happens when you bring a pit master and master distiller together over a drop of whisky? You get the Arbeg BizarreBQ! It's a first from Islay-based Ardbeg distillery, with Dr Bill Lumsden and DJ BBQ (aka Christian Stevenson) collaborating to produce this barbecue-inspired single malt. In order to create the meaty, smoky, barbecue sauce profile, the pair combined whisky from three casks: double charred oak casks, toasted Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and barbecue casks (heavily charred casks, custom made using an old-fashioned brazier). And guess what? It's a perfect whisky perfect pairing for all things barbecued.
