Master’s Ruby Reserve is a rich, perfectly balanced 40-year-old Scotch, made in
celebration of Master Blender Jim Beveridge’s ruby anniversary at Johnnie Walker.
Johnnie Walker Master’s Ruby Reserve celebrates Jim’s 40th year at Johnnie Walker
by exploring whiskies that have matured for at least four decades, including
expressions that were amongst the first whiskies Jim worked with.
Jim is only the sixth person in the long history of Johnnie Walker to hold the title of
Master Blender. He is part of a lineage of artists and craftspeople that traces back to
John Walker himself, who started our journey 200 years ago. Recently awarded an
OBE for his services to the Scotch whisky industry, Jim preserves a proud history of
remarkable whisky-making at Johnnie Walker.
From the very finest casks in the Johnnie Walker reserves, Jim has hand-selected
eight exquisite whiskies that evoke some of his earliest memories
at Johnnie Walker, including whisky from the ‘ghost’ distilleries of Cambus,
Carsebridge, Pittyvaich and Port Ellen. These rare whiskies are balanced
beautifully with highly-aged expressions from the distilleries of Talisker, Royal
Lochnagar, Glendullan and Cragganmore.
These exceptional whiskies have been expertly brought together by Jim and his
team of whisky makers with craftsmanship honed over generations - liquid proof of
their passion.
